The work portrays Wolf Robe, or Ho’néhevotoomáhe, a historical and respected figure of the Cheyenne people, a symbol of wisdom and spirituality in Native American cultures. His face, marked by time and memory, recounts a life intertwined with the land, his ancestors, and the spirit world. Every wrinkle speaks of lived experiences and a profound connection with nature and tradition.
The feathers and symbolic colors evoke the ritual power of the shaman, intermediary between the visible and the invisible. The vibrant and contrasting background blends intense hues and contemporary textures, creating a visual dialogue between past and present.
With a realistic style intertwined with the strength of contemporary language, the work celebrates the dignity and sacredness of ancient knowledge. The figure emerges as a living presence, rooted in tradition yet capable of speaking to our times. Wolf Robe’s gaze, intense and distant, seems to span the centuries to meet our own.
